Every month, we create a newsletter about what's going on in the Youth Institute. We write the stories, lay out the pages, print out and distribute it.

We decided to publish a Teen Magazine covering issues that each of us deal with in our lives. Shopping, violence, video games, teen pregnancy...you name it, we covered it.

Special Projects
We help facilitate the creation of multimedia projects with elementary-aged kids at the 6 CORAL after-school sites. Here are some examples of the projects they create.

In Their Own Words
Eloquent, powerful and shockingly honest, the following excerpts from student essays will undoubtedly help bring the Youth Institute experience alive. In this collection, Long Beach Youth Institute students reflect on their experiences over the summer, sharing what theyve learned, how theyve grown, and their plans for the future.

Choices For Youth
We collected, organized, and analyzed data from local High Schools on violence in Long Beach. The results were presented at the annual Youth Service Network breakfast. We're pretty shocked by the results, but you can decide for yourself.

LBC Wireless Internet Project
